Easy to use, the 25 Pair Color Code expanding chart allows users to search for pairs by color code, sheath count, custom start pair number, cable count (including dead count), or reverse cable count.

Supported cable types:

  • 25 pair common (25 to 900 pair cable)
  • 100 pair bundle (900 to 3000 pair cable)
  • 300 pair bundle (3600 to 4200 pair cable)

The option for a 100 pair bundle selection can prove beneficial when working with pulp cables as it provides the 100-pair bundle for tone identification.

This application is intended to be used strictly as a convenient secondary reference tool, considering the presence of mistakes in the field and the need to account for incorrect records. The use of a tone source as the primary identifier is advised for greater accuracy.

To locate color codes with or without cable counts, users can utilize the 'Find a Pair' option by clicking the Search icon at the top right corner. It is possible to enter a Sheath Pair number without a cable count or input a 'Cable, Pair' when including a cable count (the app automatically detects the presence of a cable count). Following this, the app will expand accordingly, place index pointers at the identified pair locations, and display the searched-for pair's 25 pair combination in the title bar.

In the Input Cable Count Screen section, it is noted that while not mandatory for app usage, users have the option to input a detailed cable count that can be divided into the desired cable type (common 25 pair, 100 pair bundle, or 300 pair bundle).

Users can follow these steps:

  1. Select the round Cable Type button
  2. Enter the cable count
  3. Optionally choose a position to save count to
  4. Click the "Color Code" button

Saving a cable by position changes the Search Button Icon and related cable count text box borders to clear identifiers to keep track of the currently utilized cable within the app. The color key for Smart Save radio buttons is: Green for vacant, Black for existing stored count, Red for existing count to be overwritten, and Blue for successfully saved counts. To remove a previously saved cable count, users simply select the position to delete and perform a long click on the Clear button.

The app also features Double Space Auto Punctuation functionality for convenient entry of cable counts. Users can follow these steps:

  1. Enter the cable name followed by two spaces (a comma will be automatically added)
  2. Enter the low pair range followed by two spaces (a dash will be automatically added)
  3. Enter the high pair range followed by two spaces (the app will drop down to the next line for counting)
